Employing in Ukraine
The primary guiding laws for employee security and labor rights pertaining to Ukraine's 19.5 million employed individuals are the Ukrainian Constitution and the Labour Code. Workers within Ukraine benefit from safeguards against discrimination due to age, faith, sexual orientation, gender identity, and ethnicity.
Minimum Wage
In 2023, the Ukrainian administration established a minimum monthly salary of UAH 6,700, equivalent to around $186.55 USD.
Payroll Cycle
For clients of Zavi, every worker's compensation will be distributed in equal bi-monthly payments, due in arrears. Staff receive their salaries twice a month, on the 15th and the final business day of the month.
Onboarding Time
We can assist you in quickly onboarding a new employee in Ukraine. The minimum time required is a mere 22 working days.
Our team is dedicated to ensuring your employees are onboarded and paid promptly while adhering to all local employment laws. The minimum onboarding period commences once the employee provides all necessary information. The onboarding timeline also relies on registration with local authorities.
For non-nationals of the employment country, the Right to Work evaluation (if relevant) will add an additional three days to the total onboarding time. Additional time may be needed if we must follow up on the right to work assessment.
Please be aware that payroll cut-off dates can affect the actual first day of employment. Zavi has a payroll cut-off date of the 10th of the month unless otherwise noted.
